Experience Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival
In 2016, Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival debuted in Okeechobee, Florida with a line-up that included everyone from Hall & Oates to Kendrick Lamar. Taking place ahead of Winter Music Conference in March, Okeechobee Festival brought an entirely new festival experience that the South has been desperately craving since Lollapalooza.
Steve Sybesma of Sunshine Promotions and Paul Peck of Superfly and Bonaroo formulated Soundslinger LLC to produce a forward thinking, creative and artistic event that has remnants of Bonaroo. Although they both stepped down from the company in October of 2016, Okeechobee will take place again from March 2nd to 5th in Okeechobee, Florida.
Okeechobee provides a variety of camping options, a white sand beach and lakeside bar, as well as art installations throughout, craft beer, yoga, meditation, and holistic workshops. Okeechobee will also feature a PoWow jam sessions stage with special guests and a jungle that will all add to the overall experience.
Featuring a wide spread of sounds from a multitude of genres ranging from Hip Hop to EDM to Jazz and live bands over four days, in 2016 Okeechobee played host to artists such as Skrillex, Kendrick Lamar, ODESZA, Future, and Daryl Hall and John Oates. Win Butler and Miguel of Arcade Fire also took to The PoWow! Stage for an outstanding performance in 2016.
2017 will see headliners such as Kings of Leon, Flume, Wiz Khalifa, Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, and Usher and The Roots. Electronic acts such as Porter Robinson, Griz, Snails, and The Knocks will also perform. An extremely diverse range of artists featuring everyone from Soja and Galactic to Waka Flocka Flame, Mike Posner, and Solange will make for a very diverse and eclectic line-up across a variety of genres.
