Phoenix Lights Festival: Dates Announced for Inaugural Event
Long long ago, in a far away place (well, far from the east coast), an unexplainable celestial event shook up the nation. Thousands of people in Phoenix, Arizona experienced a creeptastic light display above their heads. Was it a military aircraft? Or was it something more out of this world… maybe a UFO? Whatever it was, we are still talking about it 18 years later and some genius has finally decided to pay homage to the encounter. And what better way to pay tribute to the strange encounter than bringing together EDM music lovers for a huge one-day festival?
True Music Festival and Relentless Beats have partnered to create the Phoenix Lights Festival that will make its debut this year on March 22, 2015, situating itself at Civic Space Park. The park houses an amazing centerpiece sculpture called “Her Secret Is Patience” that features fiber nets that illuminate at night. Drawing inspiration from this piece, the festival will showcase over 30 local art installations. The festival places heavy emphasis on light displays and cutting edge visuals to pay tribute to The Phoenix Lights UFO theme. Festival organizer Jarid Dietrich leads us to believe that this festival is shaping up to be really promising.
“With Phoenix Lights, we wanted to take the experience well beyond just the music. Our partnership with Relentless Beats elevates what fans can expect, from world class musical talent to incorporating other sensory elements that focus on the theme of light."
Relentless Beats founder Thomas Turner assures us it will be a recurring festival that will happen twice per year, “We couldn't be more excited to bring this concept to the city of Phoenix. Phoenix Lights will be something that fans will look forward to for years to come."
Wait wait, hold up. Not only is this going to be a sensory overload experience, the music will be equally as amazing. The legendary Dutch electro house superstar, Hardwell, will be headlining, and the full lineup will be announced in the next few weeks. A limited number of presale tickets are still available at an affordable price point ($55), and VIP passes which allow you to access special entrances, a private bar, and festie swag will be priced at $99.
So channel your inner alien, purchase your tickets, and lets party like it’s 1997.
