The Super Bowl doesn’t come to Cali very often. I believe the last time it did take place in California was 2003 in San Diego.

At that time the EDM culture wasn’t even close to the level it is at currently. With that being said events popped up everywhere when Super Bowl 50 was announced in beautiful San Francisco. And there was one event that seemed to be the one not to miss. It was called Super City 50 held at the O.co Coliseum in Oakland.

Super City 50 had some of the biggest names on their lineup and the event did not disappoint. We are talking, Chuckie, Showtek, Chromeo, The Chainsmokers, Diplo & Alesso. ALL IN A ROW on the Main Stage.

Chuckie got the crowd warmed up and ready to take on a night full of dancing with his turn up styled set that made sure everyone was “Giggin” (fitting for where the event took place). Showtek came on next as the sun began to set and as the sun set on Super City 50 Festival the dancing really began to heat up.

Up next was Chromeo and they came out with a very surprising set. The #FNKLRDZ not only played their funky jams that were all accustom to but they turned up the heat and dropped plenty of Big House & Deep House bangers. Including Dave 1 playing plenty of is brother A-Trak’s tracks. The visuals for that set were absolutely incredible and set it up for the rising stars The Chainsmokers.

The Chainsmokers were absolutely incredible. Thier visuals were stunning and beautiful and made their set that much more stunning. They played their classic song “Roses” twice and mixed in classic 90s alternative rocks songs that everyone there could relate to and gather in on a sing along with The Chainsmokers. They ended their set with their BRAND NEW single “Don’t Let Me Down” and that was my favorite part of the set as it has been on repeat for me for the past several days.

Now….the big guns came out. Diplo, the man who created Major Lazer & created J ack U with Skrillex, came out ready to tear up the Bay Area. An incredible set that you couldn’t not dance to, with stunning visuals and stage production. On top of that he brought out Bay Area legend E-40 to really spice things up. He performed “Tell Me When to Go” & “IDFWU” and the crowd went nuts. Diplo’s set was absolutely amazing and one of the best sets I’ve ever seen.

Lastly, Alesso closed out Super City 50 Festival in the Bay Area and really closed out with a statement! His set lit the dance floor and made sure everyone left with a satisfying smile.

Super City 50 Festival was an incredible day filled with great music, great vibes and was the perfect pregame to the Big Game the next day. Super Bowl 50 was fun, but Super City 50 Festival was better. ;) #KUDOS
