ASOT: The Top Trance Radio Show
With humble beginnings back in 2001, Armin Van Buuren’s radio show A State of Trance (ASOT) has grown to be one of the largest EDM radio shows of all time. Averaging around 37 million listeners spanning across several different countries, ASOT has won many awards including the Best Mix Radio Show and has been featured at the Winter Music Conference for several years.
ASOT’s ability to unite likeminded listeners from all over the world is what made it and still makes it stand out. Getting air time across the globe has allowed for Armin to spread his love of the genre literally everywhere. It has sparked the creation of numerous other mix radio shows such as Aly & Fila with the Future Sound of Egypt, Global DJ Broadcast, and many more that all portray similar music with a similar message.
So what draws in listeners? Armin Van Buuren is arguably one of the top EDM DJs, earning a top spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 year after year. His experience and network in the industry allows him to play and showcase artists from all over the world. Though a primary focus on trance, ASOT incorporates many different styles and sounds that always keep listeners on their feet. His weekly segment “tune of the week” features new artists and music that is guaranteed to put you on to something you haven’t heard before.
Catch ASOT online but also be sure to check it out in person. Each year, Armin announces a world tour that covers many different cities all over the globe.
