Counterpoint Festival: 2015 Lineup Announced
Over the last few years an eccentric and electrifying music festival has been shaking the state of Georgia. Counterpoint Music Festival has risen from the ranks of the unknown in the music festival world, to an annual must attend for music lovers of all kinds. The year 2012 was the inaugural year for the festival, and it was held at a venue in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia. The masterminds behind Counterpoint produced an absolutely diverse lineup with the likes of Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Skrillex, Avicii, Zeds Dead, Big Boi, Porter Robinson, Wale, Big Gigantic - the list goes on and on. As far as music festivals go, they really brought the heat with their line-up, leaving everybody ecstatic about the future of the awe inspiring event. Counterpoint would not reassemble the following year, leaving many festival goers with a strong feeling of disappointment in 2013. The disappointment would fade with the announcement of TomorrowWorld taking over the Chattahoochee Hills location, and locking it down for many years to come as the featured site for the TomorrowWorld event.
In 2014, Counterpoint would reestablish a home for their event in Kingston Downs, Georgia; just north of Atlanta. They would again perform magic while constructing their versatile lineup of really great acts. 2014 Counterpoint brought us Pretty Lights, STS9, Outkast's second performance ever after their reunion, Above & Beyond, Sphongle, The Polish Ambassador, Flosstradamus, XXYYXX, J. Cole, The Revivalists, and many more amazing acts whom all deserve mention. Coinciding with the amazing acts, Counterpoint delivers an absolutely epic visual light show throughout the entire venue. At night it belligerently comes alive, and engulfs everyone with its sheer magic. The experience really has the ability to take people outside of their mental barriers, and allow them to feel truly free.
Counterpoint has been a staple in Georgia music festival lover's lives for a really good reason; because it is a really amazing festival, with a really great atmosphere, amazing people, and a silent disco; which is a really gnarly experience all on its own. There is a feeling of unity among all of the people of Counterpoint, despite their diverse backgrounds. You have people of all musical backgrounds from pure blooded rap music fans, to rockers, all the way to groups that are strictly of the EDM culture; very different kinds of people connecting in the universe as one is a beautiful thing to take part of and witness firsthand. It is a feeling one can not know, or understand without being there. It is truly an amazing feeling. It will take your breath away, and leave a permanent smile on your face.
The mad scientists behind Counterpoint have just released their 2015 line-up, and they have done it once again. The line-up is sure to bring forth very different genres of people. The line-up in its entirety consists of Widespread Panic, Zedd, The Roots, KYGO, Knife Party, Umphrey's Mcgee, Dillon Francis, Zeds Dead, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Rebelution, RL Grime, Lettuce, Chet Faker, Galactic, Ott, Michael Menert, Tipper, Minnesota, Manic Focus, Brodinski, Thomas Jack, What So Not, Papadosio, Cherub, Emancipator Ensemble, Gorgon City, ILOVEMAKONNEN, Robert Delong, Juaz The Soul Rebels, Futurebirds, Travis Scott, Goldfish, Lunice, Yung Lean, Archnemesis, Hermitude, Earphunk, Sango, Bixel Boys, Heavy Pets, Haywyre, Tauk and Bronze Whale.
