Firefly Music Festival: 2015's Lineup is Finally Here!
While the contests and free ticket giveaways were fun while they lasted, a somewhat cryptic message was released earlier today on Firefly’s social media: “No #Firefly2015 ticket giveaways today. See you at 3:00 PM EST…” Then, after a long period of anticipation, what we’ve all been waiting for finally arrived: the elusive Firefly 2015 lineup!
June 18-21, Firefly Music Festival will be back and ready to take on The Woodlands once more at the Dover International Speedway. This year’s headliners include The Killers and Kings of Leon, as well as a mysterious blur currently occupying the third headliner slot (technically the first headliner slot) on the beautiful lineup poster. Though it’s rumored to be Paul McCartney, we won’t know for sure until a “later date.”
Luckily we have quite the list of exciting names to hold us over until then! The 2015 lineup also features Morrissey, Snoop Dogg, Bastille, Steve Aoki, Hozier, Empire of the Sun, Kid Cudi, and nearly 100 more. Some past favorites are returning as well including Zedd, Modest Mouse, Foster the People, Matt & Kim, Walk the Moon and The White Panda.
“2015 marks Firefly’s fourth year and we’re bringing our best lineup to date,” says Firefly Music Festival Director Greg Bostrom. “We’re looking forward to revealing our third headliner as well as to June while we prepare to give fans the most memorable weekend of their summer.”
Now in its fourth year, Firefly is one of the fastest-growing festivals by far – jumping from 30,000 inaugural attendees in 2012 to 80,000 this past summer – and it’s only getting bigger (now with seven different stages). One of the two headlining names we do know, The Killers, is sure to see this growth from their original headlining performance in 2012 to headlining once more this summer in 2015. Seeing as how the band has been on an extended hiatus (more than a year) and currently has no other performance dates scheduled, their appearance at Firefly this summer may or may not be an exclusive performance.
