Artist Spotlight: GTA

The birth of GTA begun with a simple Facebook introduction of Miami born artists Julio Mejia and Matt Toth. Meijah, who originally went by the name JWLS had a sound heavily influenced by hip hop, and Toth who went by the name VanToth was more of a tech-house style. The DJs have both produced music individually, JWLS had remixes for artists like A-Trak , while VanToth’s solo work included remixes for Gina Turner. After their online introduction Toth and Meija listened to the other’s work and decided to collaborate on a song together. Shortly after its release their track was picked up by Afrojack and GTA was born. GTA stands for Good Times Ahead, a name that encourages good vibes and the type of energy that is needed to start a party.
