TBD Fest: Phase One Lineup Announcement
This year embarks the second year of the re-invented festival, TBD Fest…..wait, wait, isn’t Launch Festival? No no no, it is TBD Fest now. What do you remember it as? Launch Festival, the reinvented and shiny new TBD, or the humble beginnings of events at The Red Lion way back when? Whatever you remember the festival as, TBD Fest is here to stay! Organizers Michael Hargis and Clay Nutting, also the dynamic duo who brought Sacramento LowBrau & Block Butcher Bar, have brought something beyond “music” & “culture” to the people, they have brought an opportunity to have an unforgettable experience; basically a freedom feeling roller coaster ride that is purely exhilarating...with a cherry on top. TBD Fest leaves you wanting more.
Three years ago, Launch Festival brought Sacramento Chromeo, Grouplove, DJ Shadow, St Lucia and many more. Then two years ago, Launch Festival brought Sacramento Girl Talk, Imagine Dragons, Washed Out, Van She, Dredg, Gold Fields and yes, St Lucia yet again. Then just last year, Launch Festival took over an evolution and is now what stands before you today, TBD Fest. So what’d they do last year? TBD Fest pulled all the stops and gave Sacramento possibly their best event. I apologize for the long list ahead of time, #BlameTBD….but the lineup boasted an all star roster of Moby, Empire of the Sun, Justice, Dillon Francis, Explosions in the Sky, Blondie, Gramatik, Danny Brown, RAC, Cherub, MS MR, Keys N Krates, Goldroom, Viceroy, Gaslamp Killer, Carousel, and so many more talented acts. By the way, that is only about a third of the lineup; it is safe to say that TBD Fest outdid themselves last year.
However, the question now is….what is in store for 2015? Well The Phase One Lineup just dropped today and it is filled with some incredible talent. They still have a few more artists to announce and those will be announced 5.29.15 & 8.10.15 but for now we get to enjoy a lineup with artists such as Pretty Lights, Tears For Fears, Cut Copy, Tyler, The Creator, RATATAT, Madeon, Purity Ring, Tycho, A-Trak, Mobb Deep, Holy Ghost!, ASTR, Wave Racer and so many more! Alongside the amazing talent I am sure TBD has a few more surprises and tricks up their sleeve before the festival in September. Sacramento finally gets the event they deserve and I am beyond stoked to attend this festival! The festival is September 18th - 20th so get your tickets now as they will be going even faster now! TBD put in years of patience, hard work, and dedication and have grown from a small time event to a massive event. Kudos & Touche TBD!
