Exclusive Interview: VINAI

Allessandro and Andrea VINAI are two Italian born electronic dance music producers who joined forces in 2011 after working on their own individual projects. Within two years of their collab, VINAI signed with Time Records to release their hit track "Hands Up", which ended up receiving praise and support from a number of different international artists and producers in the game.

Now after linking up with Spinnin' Records, the duo continues to release dance floor bangers, still receiving positive praise and feedback from some of the biggest DJs and producers around the globe, with tracks hitting #1 on the Beatport chart. "Bound Generation", their massive club hit released alongside TJR, was the most played track at Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival this past March, and just five days after the drop, the single reached #1 on Beatport yet again, maintaining that spot for over two weeks and giving VINAI international exposure to gear up for their summer of festivals.

Track after track, dance floor hit after dance floor hit, VINAI is simply killing it in the industry and maintaining their spot at the top. We had the opportunity to catch up with the dance duo for a quick chat to talk musical influences, favorite tour memories, upcoming plans and more.

EPIC PRODUCTIONS: How did you first get your start in music?

We started at the very beginning of our career doing mashups and bootlegs over exciting songs, and then step by step we moved into producing our original mixes.

EPIC PRODUCTIONS: Who are some of your musical influences?

Hmm, actually we don’t have any particular musical influences, we just feel the inspiration from some specific sounds.

EPIC PRODUCTIONS: If you could work with anyone in the industry, who would it be?

David Guetta for sure.

EPIC PRODUCTIONS: Favorite city to perform in or are looking forward to performing in?

Probably Vegas! It's always fun when we are there!

EPIC PRODUCTIONS: What are you upcoming plans in regards to releases, more touring, studio sessions, etc?

We have one new big upcoming collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and our next solo single is a work in progress and some new big remixes on the way, too. We are always on tour and we will spend these upcoming months in Australia, Europe and Asia. When we are on tour, though, we miss the studio sooooo much.

There’s not a standard playlist but we have our top tracks like our collabs Bounce Generation & How We Party, the new KSHMR & DallasK ‘burn’, Rude by Magic, and some new unreleased promo

EPIC PRODUCTIONS: Most memorable experience while touring?

Probably when we were in Hong Kong dining at a crazy restaurant in the tallest building of the city. When we were ordering our food, the waiter recognized us and he asked us for a picture with the rest of his crew, that was pretty cool!

EPIC PRODUCTIONS: Anything else you would like to add?

Just some small advice to the new and upcoming producers, always be yourself and do what you like!
